Landscape Lighting

Lighting

single walkway light sitting in between rocks at night lighting up the landscape.
Night time is a time of magic.  Your garden should be an enchanted garden, your commercial property should shine for guests and customers alike.  Great lighting means your property stands out night and day.  Lighting can transform a landscape to give you a whole new way of looking at it. It extends the hours of pleasure and service you get from your landscape, and of course it makes you, your employees, or your guests feel safer to enjoy it.

Lighting Design
Let Riverside Landscaping totally transform your spaces, bringing out highlights you didn't know you had, putting the spotlight on the key features, and making the whole area safe and easy to navigate at night.  Let us illuminate you, design your dream and light up your (night)life.

Installation
If the thought of GFCI outlets, transformers, and the risk of underground utility cables and pipes puts you off installing your own landscape lighting then you're in good company.  Installation is more than delivering on the design – it also involves safety both for the person putting it in and long term for your commercial or residential space. Leave it to the professionals at Riverside Landscaping and watch your new night time landscape take shape.

Low Voltage
Floodlights can have their place but there is a whole range of subtle effects you can achieve with low voltage lighting.  Moonlight effects, soft glows, and pathway lighting that doesn't look like a runway; low voltage is a superb style of lighting for smooth effects that delight without dazzling.  Plus of course low voltage is easier and safer to work with and uses about a third of the electricity of high voltage systems.

Halogen
If you still think of landscape lighting as using incandescent bulbs you're in for a pleasant surprise.  Halogen has largely replaced the old incandescent lighting for brightly-lit features since the bulbs have far longer life and the power usage is more economical.  Halogen is not the only trick up our sleeve at Riverside Landscaping however as LED is now coming into its own.

LED
There is a downside to lighting your landscape of course – the cost.  For years people stayed away from LED lighting because of the sheer cost of buying the lights themselves, but initial outlay is only part of the expense profile. Long term that monthly electricity bill is going to prove more important than purchase cost and with LEDs falling in price all the time they will start to pay for themselves in energy savings sooner than you think. LED bulbs are more efficient that traditional bulbs that can waste as much as 90 per cent of the energy they use in the form of heat.  Plus a modern LED can have a lifetime of over 25,000 hours. That's not just what we think: the US department of energy singles out LED as the most energy-efficient and rapidly-developing lighting solution for the nation.  Talk to us at Riverside Landscaping about what LEDs can do for your landscape and your monthly budget.
